Epoxy primer
Barrikade®
Product data sheet
Barrikade EP-PB is a solvent-free, two-component low viscosity concrete primer which penetrates into the concrete and gives good adhesion.
Areas of use
Barrikade EP-PB is intended for use as a primer for concrete substrates in combination with Barrikade screeds and coatings.
NB: Barrikade EP-PB is not colour stable and should not be used as a dust binder, or as a top-coat.
Preparation
The surface should be free of laitance, oil, grease and loose or friable particles which may affect adhesion. Automatic shot-blasting or scabbing is recommended. The surface should then be vacuumed.
Maximum remaining moisture in concrete: 95%.
Minimum concrete quality: C25.
Mixing
Barrikade EP-PB is supplied in units ready to use comprising component A (Base) and B (Hardener). Pour contents of B into A container and mix thoroughly for several minutes with a low speed drill. Use gloves and goggles. Keep the components at room temperature 24 hrs before use.
Application
Barrikade EP-PB is applied with a brush, roller or squeegee. If the concrete is very porous, two coats are recommended.
Material consumption approximately:
0,15 - 0,3 kg/m² per coat, depending on the density of the substrate.
Cleaning
Wash hands with special hand cleanser and thereafter with soap and water. Tools should be cleaned with solvents immediately after use.
Health and safety
Mandatory and recommended industrial hygiene procedures should be followed whenever reactive resins are being handled and processed. See safety data sheet.
