Product Description

Barrikade EP-500 Tank is a solvent-free, two-component pigmented epoxy resin which provides an impervious, hard and repellent glossy finish with good chemical resistance and wearing properties.

 

Areas of use

Barrikade EP-500 Tank is intended for use as a coating on tanks, reservoirs, gutters, basins, sewage treatment plants, and floors made of concrete and steel

 

Preparation

The surface should be free of laitance, oil, grease and loose or friable particles which may affect adhesion. Blast cleaning is recommended. The surface should be vacuumed. The surface of steel and other metals, must be free from rust and corrosion. Steel blast cleaned to Sa 2.5 (ISO 8501-1) will give the best adhesion.

 

Mixing

Barrikade EP-500 Tank is supplied in units ready to use comprising of component A (Base) and component B (Hardener). First thoroughly stir contents in container A to a homogenous consistency. Pour contents of B into A container and mix thoroughly for several minutes with a forced action mixer. Use impervious gloves and goggles. Keep the components at room temperature 24 hours before use.

 

Application

For steel: apply epoxy primer for example Barrikade EP-PS by brush, roller or spray.

For concrete: apply epoxy primer for example Barrikade EP-PB by brush, roller or spray.

The surface must be smooth and free of pores. Treat with a render for example Barrikade EW-Grunn.

Two coats of Barrikade EP-500-Tank are recommended. Application with roller or rubber squeegee, roller, brush or spray.

Cleaning

Wash hands with special hand cleanser and thereafter with soap and water. Tools should be cleaned with solvents.

Mandatory and recommended industrial hygiene procedures should be followed whenever reactive resins are being handled and processed. See safety data sheet.
